COMPASS

pictureThe Communication Partnership for Science and the Sea (COMPASS) is a collaborative effort of SeaWeb, the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Center for the Future of the Oceans, and a group of academic scientists dedicated to advancing and communicating marine conservation science. The partnership works to accelerate the pace of solutions to important marine environmental problems by identifying and amplifying leading scientific voices to the media, policymakers and the public. Compass also:

  • Identifies and spotlights groundbreaking marine science and communicates it to opinion leaders
  • Helps marine scientists translate the social relevance of their research
  • Builds momentum around marine conservation issues by connecting scientists to other researchers, policymakers, journalists and the public
